Marijuana has been proven in studies to be a cause of psychosis among other things. Really bad for you or it would be legal.

The US Government made Cannibas illegal in the 30's after prohibition ended.Once they figured out that there was no clear way to keep people from growing there own stuff(thereby eliminating taxable income for the government)they decided it would just be easier to make it illegal.

back in the 60's, the FBI and the ATF deemed drugs, like marijuana, to be a mind-altering, and dangerous, drug. Conspiracy theorists claim it was done to help pharmaceutical companies produce legal medication that had similar effects, but could be sold and used commercially for profit.

i don't think marijuana was ever legal...so no one made it illegal, it's just that it was never legalized in the first place.
