God has a hand in EVERYTHING! The world belongs to Him. He created it. We belong to Him, He created us. He allowed those girls to die that day. Why? I cannot answer. However, God is in control. He has a plan and purpose for everything. There are no accidents, no random happenings. The only thing He doesn't control is our "free will." He gave that to us so "we" can choose, but He already knows how we will choose. Those girls are with him now as we sit here at our computers. I pray for the families left behind, that God will comfort them through their loss. They know they will be with their girls again, for eternity, that is the good news!!

NO, NO and again NO...God is about Love, Mercy, and forgiveness. We have free will and this person acted on what the enemy was telling him. The Amish showed the world about how to live in what the word stands for and how it is applied to everyday life and that no matter what happens, your faith is strong and not shaken.
You used the phrase "Vengeance is mine, said the Lord. He is the only one that would take vengeance and he will take it when he returns and the devil has no more ability to influence us and lead us into temptation.
Yes we should follow the teachings of Jesus and if we would just listen and be attentive to him, most of our problems would not exist....

All things work according to His will. He allowed this to happen to show others a more peaceful and loving way of life. These people are Christians and have shown what Jesus taught us to do. Be the first to forgive and move on with the knowledge that man will never be good, we are all sinful in nature. But it is our choices that determine whether we are respected. I am surprised more people dont want to be Amish after that actually. Did they get angry at God like the man who murdered their children? no, they chose to do what God wanted, and chose to forgive.

I do believe that God's will is almost never done here on earth. That's why we pray, "Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven." If His will were always done we wouldn't need to pray this part of the Lord's prayer. Elsewhere it says, 'God is not willing that any should perish but all should come to repentance." Yet we know that most people harden their prideful hearts and do not come.
I do not believe that it was God's desire that this inoccent little girls should be killed. I do believe that, as promised in Romans 8:28, that out of this tragedy God can produce something good. Your suggestion about how we are to live out our commitment to Christ is a good one.
I would that all killing should stop knowing that this won't happen. So in lieu of that I pray that I know how to correctly respond in the face of such tragedy.

I fully agree with what you are saying. As outsiders looking in we may never know what God's full purpose was for the shooting. Hopefully, those closer to it have a feeling of God's purpose. I think it's a wake up call. More and more senseless things like this seem to be occuring. I'd like to think that it's a sign that Christ return is getting closer. Be on your gaurd, not only for your physical being but your spiritual one as well. When you die do you know where your going, I do! I would also like to be greeted with "well done, good and faithful servant".

Um no.
Have you ever heard of the Angel of Death in the story of Exodus with the killing of the firstborns. A lot of people don't know this but the angel of death is a fallen angel. That's right he is a demon. In revelation it makes a very clear distinction between death and Satan and hell. In revelation it says one of the last things to be defeated is death. When Jesus died and took the keys to hell and death with him it makes another clear distinction.
Remember Lucifer was an angel to He is referred to as an Angel of Light.
Jesus conquered death on the cross. Christians in some sense have power over death. In that sense I mean. We are not to be taken prematurely in a violent way. Christians are meant to be taken peacefully ushered into heaven by God's angels. Non believers are ushered into hell by the angel of death Satan's angel.
And yes we are to love our enemies. More than ourselves.
Hope that helped.
I love you,

Their faith in God is such that they know they will see their kids agian in heaven, just got to wait in the meantime. They also know God it in control even in bad situation. To lose control, means the situation controls you & not God. It has strengthen their faith in God instead of wavering it. Even non-christian can appreciate the concept of non-wavering belief.

I couldn't believe in a God who let children get killed to make a point. Couldn't he just come down in a glowing cloud and lay it all on the line or something?
And as far as forgiveness goes: if someone killed my child, I would kill the guy myself. And if he tortured them first, I would flay him alive and dissolve his feet in acid before I put a bullet in his head.

absolutely not. God does not advocate the killing of innocent people. God is about love. What happened in PA was because of the sick mind of a person who was obviously listening to the evil one and not following the ways of Jesus.
