gosh, some people really haven't lived have they? Not heard of an electric shower!!!!!

Triton are a good make - we currently have a Gainsborough which is ok.

Make sure you have a high wattage output - pref 10kw - this ensures that you have a good flow of water through your shower - anything less than a 8.5 kw nowadays isn't worth bothering with.

Home depot has cheap tile, but remember you get what you pay for, check the sizing of the tile.Usually there are open boxes of tile there and you can lay them out right on the floor, the crappier the sizing, the crappier the job will look.As for an electric shower, if your looking for a heated shower pan go to warmlyyours.com , they are the only heated floor company that has a system approved for a wet area

msnite196 not heard of an electric shower? so what've you been using the run off rain water from the roof gutter? Anyway back to the main Q there are too many now to pick the cheapest & best here go to B&Q/Homebase & have a look at their numerous selection you'll also get tiles there too.

Electric showers are really very simple devices and you pay for build quality, life expectancy etc.
Really you get what you pay for.
The higher the power eg 7, 8, 9 or even 10 KW, the faster the flow of water will be and so the more enjoyable the shower.
If you are on a budget, go to B&Q and pick one of theirs of the highest power you can afford. Make sure a qualified electrician fits it or expect a free curly perm each time you use it.

I presume you have no shower fitted at present. If you have, you could be restricted by the cable size that is installed. If not, bear in mind that most manufacturers have now been at it for quite a few years, so most have got it right. It is a question of picking one that gives you the facilities that you need at a price you can afford. Mira or Triton are pretty good, Aqualisa is another.

I fit lots of electric showers, and would rate Mira as the best, a good mid -range model is the Sport 9.8kw thermostatic. B& Q have some (special) Mira models but they have different internals, hence the lower prices.

You MUST have it professionally installed and the power supplied via a 30ma RCD/ 45a MCB and a DP isolator switch.

It depends on your hot water pressure. If it is good then a normal shower will do. If it isn't then go for a power shower to increase the pressure. Also if the water isn't hot enough then go for a power shower with heater. I am in the middle bracket. My water is hot enough but not enough pressure so my one is a non heated power shower. Generally stick to the well known names for quality and get reputable plumber and electrician in to fit it. Hope this helps.

I used a Triton for over ten years and as far as I know it's still going strong.

To get cheap tiles if your in the UK try Wickes

I would advise if its possible to fit a power shower, there slightly more expensive to buy and fit but the benefits are amazing. we had a power shower fitted 3 weeks ago and i cant stress enough how much better they are.

Mira showers are extremely good, and Argos do some cracking deals on them... surprisingly. I have trade contacts who cannot better the prices that Argos are charging for the Miras in their catalogue.
