I wouldn't personally, if you change your color I'd just lighten it up a bit so it's not such a shock to everyone and your self. and if you just lighten it it looks a lot more natural.

Changing your hair colour to blond is really about changing your life. There is no experience like it. Taking into account the good and the bad, I did it and I love it. The only thing that I have to add as a caution is that if you are considering blond you should use an ash colour if you want to avoid hints of red and that if you chose bleach blond (which is what I did) you need to condition more often because bleaching dries out your hair and can make it feel strawy and pull on the roots when brushing. I had apprehensions myself before I changed my hair colour but now I would not change back. The only advice I can give to you is that if you have wanted to do this for some time, go ahead. You can always change back if you are not happy. I went to a wig store and tried on different colours before I dyed my hair to ensure that I would be OK with the result. It also helped me chose the right colour of blond for my skin colour. Being blond is great and I recommend that everyone try it at least once in their life time : )

Leave your hair the way it is dyeing dark hair blond makes it look a little orange. Not to mention keeping up with it is a pain in the ****.

Try a blonde wig first. Very dark hair when lightened to blonde can look very artificial. A wig tried on free in a department store will give you the chance to see the look without damaging your hair. Then decide if its for you :)

Well if you're real pale, then yes. Blond might work. It you have a warmer skin tone, try a warmer golden blonde. If your skin tone is darker than your hair color, people will tell.
Talk to your hair dresser before you dye your hair, she/he will help you pick out a nice shade that suits you.

To start with, just put blond highlights or streaks in your hair to see if you like it. Plus, the contrast against your black hair might be kinda cool!

I've seen some cool ideas with blonde, like the entire top layer is all blonde and the underneath layers are all black, cool.

From my understanding it takes a lot of doing to get black hair to be blonde...I'd be careful if I were you to make sure you don't actually turn your hair orange.

Don't do it all at once. Do the highlights thing. I think you would look hot. I have dark hair too and I put highlights on the ends (kind of a boy cut) and I keep it kind of wild. Bet u r cute. :)

If you do decide to do it, have it professionally done. Going that extreme usually requires a pro to get it done right.
