I read that drinking green tea (not sure if it's all teas) at high temperatures could be linked to some forms of cancer. So it's recommended to drink the tea luke warm or iced

Green tea is thought to be high in antioxidants which strengthen the immune system and has also been linked
to lowered rates of cancer and cardiovascular diseases.
Although there is always ongoing debate on the subject,
it appears to me that the studies which indicate its positive effects are in the majority.
I have read several books lately which speak about green tea in depth.

The Okinawa Program
The Antioxidant Miracle
Super foods-Rx

I found all of these at Barnes and Noble.
Studies on various long lived people indicate that their consumption of green tea may play a leading role in their health.
I was convinced enough that I drink several cups of tea every day. The favorite of the Okinawans is green jasmine tea which I quite enjoy. One thing I have found is that the higher quality
loose-leaf tea you buy at Asian markets does taste significantly
better than most of the boxed teabags. (for green tea. Black teas it doesn't seem to be the case). And although they are more expensive, it takes forever to finish a $10.00 can of fresh jasmine tea so it's not a big deal. Also, in terms of the antioxidant properties, black and green teas are both effective.
They are basically the same plant just treated differently.

It tastes good and has good antioxidants.

Links of green tea to helping prevent against cancer and heart disease are inconclusive or negative at this point. It is still a good alternative to coffee.
