Buy your ticket ahead of time and avoid the lines in front of the Pyramid and at the ticket windows.
Tickets sold in advance cannot be picked up at the Louvre.
Tickets are valid every day of the year (except Tuesday, when the museum is closed, and on certain holidays). They are strictly personal, and cannot be used by another person, exchanged or reimbursed.

Postage and handling fees are added to the price of the ticket, which is mailed to your home.

Tickets purchased through TicketWeb (payable in US dollars) can only be sent to addresses in North America.

Tickets purchased at Fnac and through TicketNet (payable in euros), are mailed from Paris. TicketNet also sells tickets to the Louvre's temporary exhibitions.
Fnac charges 1.30 euros commission per ticket, and TicketNet charges 1.10 euros

The combined RATP-Louvre ticket (€12.50) is available exclusively from the RATP (Département Commercial-Ventes Grands Comptes) through travel agents. The ticket consists of two RATP transport tickets (metro, bus, tramway, and RER) and admission to the museum's permanent collections. Holders of this ticket also receive a 10% discount at the Louvre's cafés and restaurants.

not sure, but you can buy a visitors pass which includes tickets for different museums in Paris and transportation
