Chelmsford area is a great night out, range from pubs, to bars, to night clubs to poledance joints, so you have a range.
If you just get a cab to drop you off in the High Street you won't get lost. Start off in the Littentree pub (dance floor aswell) first and if you meet some people just ask where to go on to next, you won't be disappointed and you don't have far to walk either.
