Easy Hamburger Recipe

Serves 4

For the Patties:

4 Basic Chicken Burger or Basic Hamburger or Basic Pork Burger patties

For the Sate:

1/3 cup peanut oil (vegetable oil will also do)
1/3 cup finely chopped or crushed unsalted roasted peanuts
3 cloves garlic crushed or finely chopped
3 dried red chilies crushed or a volume equal to the garlic of fresh chili finely chopped
1 teaspoon curry powder

For the Rolls:

4 fresh bread rolls, same size as the patties
thinly sliced onion
lettuce
mayonnaise

To make the sate paste heat the oil in a saucepan and add the garlic and chilies. Stir over a medium heat for a minute and add the curry powder. Stir for another minute or two to bring out the flavour and aroma then add the peanuts. Stir for a further 5 minutes or so until the mixture forms a paste and you're done. The paste can be used warm or cold but definitely tastes better if it has been allowed to stand for a few hours before using.

Cook the patties using your preferred method.

Split the rolls and toast the cut surfaces lightly (under grill, on barbecue or in a pan) just before the patties are done. Spread mayonnaise on the bottom halves, add a thin slice of onion and some lettuce. Spread a little sate on the lettuce, add the patty and spread a layer of sate paste over the top. Top it off with the other half of the roll. Delicious!

Bon Appetit!

cook the meat before it gets too old adding some pepper and onions - after it has cooled store in Ziploc bags in freezer for up to 3 months. When thawed It can be added to many things: Pasta Sauce, Chili, make a Taco Salad, or even Hamburger Helper! One of my favorite fall recipes is Hamburger,Tomato, Macaroni Soup. All it takes is cooked macaroni, cooked ground beef, a can of chopped cooked tomatoes, heat them all together, adding whatever spices you like. Let it simmer for about 10 minutes and serve with warm crunchy bread.

Go and buy Lipton onion dry soup mix. Should be a recipe on the box or inside it. Mix it in with the meat. Cook as usual. Maybe 1 packet to 1/2 lb of meat? or 1 packet to 1lb meat.

cook the hamburger put onion slices on it, melt a cheese patty on top. My mom did this and I loved it!

Buy A1 steak sauce. Put on hamburger before eating. Cook the meat prior!

Make the tiniest burgers you can!

Meatballs. Larege ones with spaghetti noodles.

Here's one my husband loves:

Hamburger Casserole

1 1/2 lb. hamburger, browned and drained
1 onion, chopped
1 pkg. dry spaghetti sauce mix
1 8 oz. can tomato sauce
1 cup sour cream
8 oz. mozzerella cheese, shredded or sliced
1 pkg. crescent rolls, opened and flattened
1/3 c. parmeasean cheese
2 T. melted butter/margarine, melted

Brown the hamburger and onion, drain well.
Add the spaghetti sauce mix and tomato sauce and heat through.

Pour into a 9 x 13" pan.

Top with the sour cream (it will be a thin layer), and then the mozzerella cheese. Place the crescent rolls over the top like a crust.

Sprinkle with the Parmesean cheese and drizzle the margarine over the top.

Bake at 375 degreese for 18 to 25 minutes, until golden brown.

Let set for 10 minutes before cutting into squares.

Adam's Indonesian-style Chicken Meatballs

2 lb. lean ground chicken, preferably Maple Leaf brand
2 tablespoons of ketjap manis, known as Indonesian style soya sauce
1/2 teaspoon of Indonesian red chilli paste
2 teaspoons fresh chopped ginger root
4 cloves minced or crushed garlic
1 cup cooked white rice
1 cup oats
ketchup to taste
1/4 onion, chopped
basil and coriander to taste.

Mix meat, soya sauce, garlic, ginger, added seasonings and onion together. Make a well and add ketchup, enough to make it moist. Then add rice and oats. Brush with a mixture of oil and white flour. Brown the meat in a large saucepan. Then take 2 cups of leftover chicken gravy and thicken with cornstarch if not thick enough. Pour over the meatballs in a deep ovenproof dish and bake for fifteen minutes.

I like to serve this with rice and a curry vegetable stirfry.

Now to make burgers, simply shape them into burgers and brush with flour. Brown on each side in a large pan. Transfer to oven or barbecue. Preheat oven at 350 degrees and it takes twelve minutes, eight minutes on a medium high barbecue. You can serve with a barbecued pizza and biscuits if you like.

Serve with toasted sourdough or white hamburger buns, red and green relish, mayonnaise, butter, lettuce, tomato, cucumber slices and onion. Mushrooms don't go so well, but a mild cheese like Mozzarella for slices works.
