Definitely try adding sugar. Adding sugar also cuts the acidity.

I would need to know if it is fresh salsa or cooked salsa.
If it is fresh salsa, depending on the quantity you made, stir in some vegetable oil (this will collect the capsacin - the pepper oil that makes things hot) until distributed. Let set for a bit. Then fill container with water ... the oil and peppers will float to the top. Skim what you can off. Then pour the whole mixture into a collander and run under warm water, rinsing until the oil is gone. Let drain completely. Then pour back into your mixing bowl. If that doesn't work -- add more tomatoes.

Yeah, I've done this plenty of times. Because you used crushed red peppers, it's probably garbage. Use only hot peppers for salsa, never additives like hot sauce, crushed red, etc. Mix all ingredients minus the peppers first, then add 1/2 finely chopped pepper at a time. I like jalapenos for the flavor and the mild heat.

Add more tomatoes to make it milder. Or maybe try adding some parsley and other herbs. You can water it down a little too. Keep in mind that the longer it sits the hotter it will get so if it is too hot now, it will only get worse from there.

Cumin powder, vinegar and sugar.
I make my own salsa and have different versions. It is so easy.
Take four small roma tomatoes and chop finely after washing. Remove the seeds as much as you can. Mix with vinegar, tobasco sauce, sugar, chopped fresh cilantro, salt and onion. Leave to marinate for a few minutes. Serve with baked tostadoes covered with light cheese, sweet green chilies, if desired, and a little taco seasoning.
Pineapple Salsa
Take leftover pineapple, about one cup. Add two green chiles, sugar, vinegar, one kiwi and 1/4 onion. Let soak up the liquid for twenty minutes. This is good with brushetta, barbecued Mexican pizza or plain, unsalted taco chips.

ummm, you may be able to add a little lime or lemon juice to help out with the bite of the hot, but unfortunatel all you can really do is add more of the ingreients to it to help stretch the flavor out. You learn by trial and error so no worries.
