My parents are very protective/overprotective. My whole life I've been homeschooled(with no option on whether I can go to school or not), pretty much banned from church, and practically jobless. There've been so many things I've wanted to do in the past, but have been turned down on, that I dread asking about doing anything new. I remember back in 4th grade wanting to join a soccer team and getting a huge lecture on how people would tape up their kid's arms in baseball so that'd they'd pitch left handed and things equally retarded. Public school is a huge anger builder for them, and same with church. My mom can make a huge lecture out of the simplest questions, and my dad gets really angry when you ask certain questions, or disagree with him. Just recently I was at a friends house and had to be back by 6:30, but I called for a time extension and he exploded. I really want to get out, I don't think I'll be able to last another year till I turn 18, but what should I do?

I don't have hardly any friends, except in the family, and the one's I have outside the house hardly ever do anything with me. I generally have to make the first move, and then I feel like a loser for bugging them. I just don't have any options on what friends to have and not to have. I got into porno for a while, but that was just a downhill slope, so I got out again. I've almost cracked so many times and snuck out the window at night, or headed out for Miami or Pennsylvania. Life just sucks. But I can't hate them, cause they are really good parents in some ways.

I know it seems like forever away, but you will be 18 soon. Hang in there. There is really nothing you can do about what is going on. They are your parents and they love you it just seems like they don't really know how to be parents. The fact that this isn't forever should give you comfort. Your life will be able to start soon. Hang in there my friend.

Dude what you're going through is typical of parents who care about there children. But listen your almost home free you'll be 18 next year and you think you're going to strike out on your own. Well you better start preparing your parents this year. drop little hints or open up hypothetical situations, cause believe me their doing the best they can with you and they are gonna be devasted when you leave. Hope you got your job or college job lined up, cause all the stuff that they handled will now have to be handled by you. Hope you were paying attention and not spending most of the time in anger and hate. Let me tell you how it should have gone from 0 to 13 you are to be told/discplined what to do, from 14 to 25 if you're still leaving at home, they by this time they should only be GUIDING you, bargaining should have started when you were 14 ( if I do this then can You do that ?) Your parents should have started making trades with you. And dude you still need your parents advice at 21.
Many parents never answer the question but go on about stuff you don't think makes sense. In the end don't hate them. In a certain book a certain one makes a promise. " Honour your mother and father( this means listen to them do what they tell you) that your days may be long upon the land which the Lord your God has given you."(this is the promise part, long life.

Overproctective parents believe that they can proctect their kids from all the bad in the world and that is very stupid of them. Its just not possible and I think its a horrible way to raise a child.
Im not saying to let the child do anything they feel like, but a parent is not control every lil thing, its not fair, its like being a caged animal.
Anyway, theres nothing much you can do untill you are old enough to move out.
Good luck and I hope you escape soon!

Your parents are obviously VERY CONTROLLING, and seem insecure. I suggest you grin and bear it untill you reach 18 it probably doesn't seem like it but your parents love you and want to protect you, they have just taken it to the extreme. Try and find a common thread meanwhile, surely there is some small thing that you share a common interest in. Best of luck to you.

Parents sometimes think that they are doing the right thing but sometimes it's just wrong because people need to get out and realize what there is out there I don't think that you are going to live there forever for them to protect you so make them understand what you want. start telling them not asking them but don't do dumb things some kids do the wrong things when their parents are protective. Hopefully everything comes out ok for you.good luck.

I don't know how easy it would be, but try to talk to them about how how you feel. Let them know that you know they have your best interest in mind, but you are really hurting emotionally and need some space. Let them know they can trust you to make good decisions, and that you are almost an adult, and once you are, they won't always be there to baby you.
If that doesn't work, just wait it out. It's hard, but you can make it.
Once you get your freedom, use it wisely.

I know this sounds gay, but parents only care. I'm 15 and my parents are terrible. If I tell them I understand their concerns, and that I'll be care-full, everything works out for the best. try it.

just bear patience until you're on your own, you'll still have time to make up on all that you've lost. when you are matured you'd see things from a quite different prospective.
