I've seen asians, indians would actually listen to an explanation and form an informed opinion but christians get a myopic view and just keep on an on about their scriptures and verses without actually addressing the problems. What is this affliction? They act so stupid for eg, "I don't understand how you believe in god, when you don't believe in jesus".

I can't even keep track of all the times I've had a religious discussion that went something like this:

Person: "Are you Christian?"
Me: "No."
Person: "What?! You don't believe in God?! That's horrible!"

So in other words, Christianity is the ONLY religion that believes in God... I couldn't possibly be Jewish or Muslim or something. Or maybe I believe in a higher power but don't believe in the Bible. There are so many possibilities but to many Christians, if you say you're not Christian, you're automatically labelled an atheist. If you want to know how this relates to your question... well, you mentioned the listening skills of some Christians, so that made me think of it.

That is something many of us Christians need to work on I agree! If any christian has offended you I'm here to say I'm sorry. And Jesus would never do that to you!

I would tell these people to look at history. History says there was a man Jesus, he was real. The question is was he who he claimed to be? and Why did the apostles (all but 1) die for him? There are many historical non-christian documents showing these things. Pliny the younger, Josephus, Ticatus and more.

The bible has prophecy that has been fulfilled about Jesus. We have the dead sea scrolls that dates back 2nd century BC and the 1st century AD. So if these prophecies have come to pass it leads us to believe he was real!
Facts on the bible;
Written over a period of about 1,600 years by 40 different authors, the book on which the Christian faith rests tells one story that beings with creation and concludes on the threshold of eternity. The integrity of its historical and geographical record is supported by archeology( a tomb of Ciaphus the high priest that brought Jesus to trial was found, and the walls of jerico have been found and a LOT more). The accuracy with which it has been copied and handed down to us has been confirmed by the Dead Sea Scrolls of Qumran. Originating neither in the East or the West, but in the Middle East--the cradle of civilization--the Bible continues to speak not only with spiritual power but with convincing prophetic accuracy.
So if the bible is a true document then what do we do with this Jesus?

Most Christians ARE good listeners, where I live. I know some Christians that are extremly good listener's, and some that are not. The best out of all the religion's I know.

If those who call themself Christians would be a possitive role model instead of a negative one, Then Christianity would not be closing people's heart's, and they would begin to open the door's for non-chrisitians.

For God did not send his son to condemn the world but to save. John 3:16-17

What in the world are you talking about? Do you know what Christianity is? Your statement shows a very disappointing lack of knowledge.
As a Christian I believe in the Father, Son and Holy Ghost. Jesus is the son.
You write of problems and affliction, could it be prejudiced? Do you think all people of your religion are identical? Do you think all people of any one nationality are all good or all bad? We are all human beings, some good, some bad. Some people are more gifted then others and some people have challenges. My God has opened my heart to acceptance. Do no harm and leave the world a better place.

Well, it's not Christianity as much as it is stupid people, who call themselves Christians like say, The Pope, and deny the human condition, for the sake of ancient texts claiming to be the word of God as translated and re-translated by ancient man to fit a religious group that often deified itself and expected complete deference in order to uphold its puritanical influence on society.

So people are born with open hearts, then some may close based on cultural upbringing. But as an adult, people have the option to unplug from cultural expectations and open themselves up again. God (however one wishes to call him/her) has all the time in the world, but do we?

It's the indoctrination that most receive when they are taught. I was taught from an early age that if you were not Catholic, you went to Hell. It took me a long time to unlearn that belief. Now, I have no institutional religion, but I believe. I personally feel that you don't have to go any service and proclaim how you feel. I guess we will find out when I am being judged.

You are generalizing and stereotypying, try taking each person on an individual basis. Some christians hearts may seem closed to you, but your mind seems very closed to me! Maybe instead of spreading hate you could consider, "how can I be helpful to this person? What do we have in common? Can I be an example of a loving person, maybe they will want what I have. How can I be of service to them? Stop trying to divide us! Love your neighbor as you love yourself, treat others as you would like to be treated! Stop looking for the diffrences and start looking for similarities. God loves all of his children...Why can't you?

God never said to listen to things untrue...you have not spouted out anything worth reasoning over so why do you expect any other reaction?

Revelation 21:8 (King James Version)
8But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.

Correction. not all Christians are good listeners but I for one am. I think perhaps the closed hearts of some christians are in direct relation to the closed mindedness of some atheists.

Sometimes it does seem as if they wear Kevlar on their heads....Their own scripture says that god hardened Pharoah's heart so that he could punish him and show his glory.....uh what?!?! Maybe a hardening of the heart is part and parcel of the faith. Maybe it is only a few who do this. Maybe we will all outgrow the need for these antiquated, fear based, superstitious mythologies and our humanity will rise above our dogma.
