How can I display silk flowers inexpensively, as center peices? I do not want to buy 10 vases.

use the half circle styro balls or the wreath style styro and place the flowers that way. it is inexpensive and fun to style them. or you can use the glass bowls at walmart in the fabric dept and fill them with glass rocks and put the flowers in that way. it will look elegant and only you will know they are homemade.

Do you not want to buy vases because of the cost? I would imagine you will have to find something to put them in. Something seasonal maybe. But I can't imagine you'll find some sort of container for less than $1.00 (a basket, decorative box, flower pot, etc).

You can buy 10 vases for $10.00 at Michaels Arts & Crafts or AC Moore or Hobby Lobby. They all have extremely inexpensive vases.

Another thought is to make a topiary with the flowers.

If you are just buying lose bunches of flowers, I can't really think of another way to display them other than some sort of a vase or container. You can't just scatter them all over the table.

If you're trying to save on cost, don't do silk flowers. Do something like votive candles, a mirror and some rose petals instead? That's very pretty.

Here's a different idea - buy terracotta flower pots. At many discount stores you can get 2 of them for $1. Spray paint the outside & inside of them white and hot glue a tulle bow in the rim. If you want to get fancy, hot glue a rhinestone in the center of each bow. Try doing a bow on each side of the rim if you're using rectangular tables so people on both sides see a bow. It's cheap, easy, quick and elegant! You could also use mason jars and fill around the stems with moss. Try your local dollar store - they usually have some pretty nice glasswear at reasonable prices. Good Luck & have fun!!!

Most Flower shops will loan you big bowls (cake pedestals, turn the lids upside down) and you can float some votive candles in there and lay the silk flowers around the base.

Or Make your own candle holders with the flowers, Glue the flowers to the candles on the metal part.

You can purchase different types of stemware (water goblets, wine glasses, etc.) from area garage sales or thrift stores. They do not have to all be alike. After cleaning, tie a pretty bow around the stem, hot glue some silk flowers complimenting your colors, drop a candle inside and your finished. It makes a very elegant center piece. Candles always add something extra to receptions.

Is it a Fall wedding? If so purchase some small or medium pumpkins. Hollow out the middle. Keep the top to use later. Purchase oasis for silk flowers, and use a small container slightly larger then the inside of the pumpkin. Use Floral tape to hold the oasis in the container and place in pumpkins. the make your arrangements. When it is finished take the top of the pumpkin and pierce with a florist pick and stick the top to the side of the pumpkin.

Try going to garage sales or thrift stores to look for cheap glass vases or containers. They don't necessarily all have to match--in fact I think it makes for a nice look if they don't.

Or you could put a nice size candle in a hurricane glass and surround it with the tops of silk flowers.

Vases are actually one of the least expensive options.
I ordered from this website for my engagement party decorations and they were reasonably priced. http://www.save-on-crafts.com/vases.html
Ikea also has inexpensive vases, the local dollar store. I'd be willing to bet you can find some options for $2-3

My friends bought some flat glass bowls, and put water, rocks, a floating candle and one gardenia.

Good luck!

u can get that green block stuff and stick the flowers in so that it looks like a big bunch of flowers... maybe u can put that in a basket, or nice flower pot

u can get large bowls, filled with water, and put tea light candles and silk flowers floating on top

u can get bottles (like soda bottles or larger made of glass), cover with colored tissue paper and ribbon, use as vases

u can get cheap vases at Michael's or something, like $1.99 each...

also, my friend had bought large square mirrors from ikea or something, and 3 size martini glasses.... she filled w/ water, tea light, and colored beads. u can utilize similar thing, except w/ the silk flowers in the glasses :)

good luck!

Fish bowls
Pails
Stirofoam or green sphere halves.

You can RENT the vases from a flower shop or catering service.

Congrats and good luck
