As long as you are not talking about a car amp then yes. But beware of the resistance of the speakers and the home reciever.
Most car subs are 4 ohms
Most home audio equipment is 8 or 12

If the two tens are wired in parallel that would show 2 ohms which might fry a home amp

If the speakers are 4 ohm, and wired independently, it shouldn't hurt the reciever too much. Just make sure it has adequate cooling (plenty of space and air flow around it)

yep, just make sure that the sub can run 8 ohms. i did it with a infinity kappa perfect 12 dvc. all i did war wire it up to 8 ohms, and its good to go. works and sounds great. its the weakest link of my 3 home subs though.

Yes, they can be used just fine in your home audio system, as long as they aren't powered subs. You'll just need to buy some F-Mods, which are passive RCA crossovers: http://www.crutchfield.com/S-aHnrUo3OlgI/cgi-bin/ProdView.asp?g=100&I=069900061&search=F%2DMods You'll also have to buy (assuming you don't already have one) a stereo home receiver to power them.
