Kelly ~
In my opinion, when a young Mike Tyson was in his prime he had the fastest hands of any Heavyweight since the Great Ali. He was able to throw 4 and 5 punch combinations in mere seconds. He developed this style in part thanks to Cus D'Amato and Kevin Rooney and 1000's of hours on the Mazie Ball. there he would slip the bag controlling his balance and let off 4, 5 and 6 punches with little or no effort.
When Mike left Kevin Rooney and Bill Cayton his style went from devastating combinations to a single shot type of guy and even then his hand speed was above average thanks to his own God given ability, but that precise flurry of punches is forever gone.
Thanks for the great question Kelly.

Great handspeed when he was young and focused. Once Tyson cut Rooney loose(Don King got into his head) as his trainer he was done. Hindsight proves that.

Very quick hands, helped by short, compact punches in his prime. However, his handspeed was no faster than Michael Dokes' or Tony Tubbs' or Corrie Sanders' in their respective primes, to say nothing of Patterson or Ali.

Fairly quick. Once. But he's history. An emotional baby who is now washed up.
