i need to know where to start, how much this will cost , do i or should i get a lawyer?

You can down load the I130 visa application at www.uscis.gov. Fill it out, send it with the requested amount and prepare for a 6-10 month process. Depending on where you live, it will go to the service center first, it will get approved there, it will then go to the National Visa Center in the east, they will require several pieces of information from you. Make sure you submit EVERYTHING that is requested. Send it in as soon as you can. Since the process is so long the quicker you send in your request the sooner he gets approved. You might want to get in touch with your local congressperson. They have staff that will make phone calls on your behalf. Good luck
