First I'm very sorry about your mom, having to deal with anything like this is very hard. There are a few foundations out there depending on what the wish is, lets start with these two

The second one will give you a list of all the different organizations nationwide who do wish type granting.

Oh boy - most of them that i have heard of or have donated to or supported in some way are geared toward's children. I wish I could be helpful to you. A lot of online searching may get you a better result.

Make-A-Wish is for children with terminal conditions.
