"But in the last days it shall come to pass, that the mountains of the house of the Lord shall be established in the top of the mountains, and it shall be exalted above the hills; and the people shall flow into it.

"And many nations shall come, and say, Come, and let us go up to the mountain of the Lord, and to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths: for the law shall go forth of Zion, and the word of the Lord from Jerusalem." Micah 4:1,2

I thought that Mormons believed Zion would be in Missouri. That's what the Elders told me, anyway.

To Mormons it means that in the last days (which we are in), a temple of the Lord will be built upon the mountains, and it will be thought of and treated as a place where God will (does) teach us of His ways, where we can walk in His paths. We believe this prophecy was fulfilled when the Salt Lake City LDS temple was built. If you look at its architecture, you will notice many spires that to me anyway look like mountain tops. The city itself is located among the Wasach (spelling?) Mountains. When the city was first founded, people (LDS members) from all over the world did flow unto it. Members still regard it and all the other LDS temples as the house of the Lord . We believe that in temples, we are taught from on high (from the Lord), taught His ways, His paths, etc which is another reference to mountains. As for the last part of verse 2, "for the law shall go forth of Zion, and the word of the Lord from Jerusalem", it was once explained to me that Christ Himself will (when He returns) be in Jerusalem, therefore His word will come from Jerusalem, but the law will come from Zion, which we believe will be on the American continent. I'm still kind of fuzzy about the logistics of that, but if the person who told me this knows what he's talking about, then it will happen just that way, and all I have to do is have faith that it will.

UPDATE: Yes, that's right. Missouri is on the American Contenant. :)

This is a prophecy come true in that the temple of God is now in the mountains, exalted above the hills--think Salt Lake City and the temple that took 40 years to build.

Added note: Robert K: I don't have to check. It is the truth; I know that which I post here regardless what you believe.
