When you came across these verses what did you think?

1 Corinthians 2:12-14

12 Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God. 13 Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual. 14 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

Do you think that in order to fully understand God and His Word you need the Holy Spirit??

yes.... but the "mystery" is that the Holy Spirit is actually within us, All of us!!! some of us just don't know, don't realize, or don't care :P.

the thing is, in the END, don't "listen" and "follow" a preacher, pastor, teacher...... you Learn and Grow from them, to stimulate your mind and your understanding, but you shouldn't see a speaker or pastor and start believing HIS words over what your understanding, your questions, your belief...

because Humans are weak, fallible, and corrupt at times..or just wrong. not because they necessarily Want to be, but because we are not perfect. which is why it is so important to seek what is Positive, Healthy, and Good in our lives..i believe that will take us to where we Need to be.... continuously growing spiritually, mentally, emotionally, and closer to God. you seeking answers WILL take you to religion, and God.....

i believe many pastors and teachers are Good, but still, you can Learn from their words, but not Follow only their words.. you take it, and use it to gain even More understanding, More questions, in your own heart and mind...and u will be able to become a teacher/student in and of yourself!!! as you have fellowship with others.. remember, there are millions of interpretations of the bible and God's Word.. it is up to you to find the truth in yourself, and open your heart and mind. :) it is really amazing to hear different versions and questions, and instead of thinking it is "against" biblical teaching, you can open your mind to what God could have meant for us to learn. it is DEFINITELY not judgement, hatred, segregation, condemnation... which is what many christians *think* religion is about!! not at all..which is why, sometimes u have to start, Again, as a newborn, and learn all things On your Own... good luck to us all..

one of the passages that REALLY Changed my mind about Christianity was this: Romans 5-8. :)..i used to think christianity was mean, hurtful, judgemental.. pretty much i wasn't "good enough".... now my feeling is Totally changed!! i am proud, happy, and enlightened thru the Grace of God

I believe that the Holy Spirit is important in an individual's life especially if that person has purposed to do the right or righteous things. Wisdom comes from God and those who trust their own thoughts may discover that some actions/choices though appealing and having the right intentions do not always turn out for the best. On the other hand, those who depend on the Holy Spirit will receive "extraknowledge" in the sense that they do not know how they know the information. A "voice" may tell them to change course; or they may be told to visit X on Y day.One time I was told to visit X on Y day and I wondered why I had to wait. As it turned out, X was absent until day Y and the next day X went on vacation.I did not know this information from guessing or making phone calls. The Holy Spirit through a word of knowledge provided it. In the same way, the Holy Spirit provides wisdom to say the right words to someone in a critical situation. The natural man, who wants nothing to do with God, may not understand why and consider the behaviour foolish or stupid.Later, in time, one discovers that the behaviour was one that revealed spiritual wisdom.

I think that we need The Holy Ghost always..not only to fully understand God, but in every situation in our lives. Remember that God, Jesus, and The Holy Spirit are one. You cannot have one without the other. They are the Holy Trinity. It is good to start with a prayer to the Holy Spirit Every time you read the Bible. This would help you understand God's word better. It is that enlightenment that makes us different from the normal man as it is expressed in the passage.

Totally need the Holy Spirit. The Bible says that without the Spirit the letter kills. That's what religion is-people trying to keep all the laws and do what the Bible says but they don't even know what it means.

Acts 2:38

Then Peter said to them,"Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit"

If you are saved then you have the Holy Spirit inside you already! And yes, to fully understand the Bible you do need the Holy Spirit.

Of course. Just as the bible says, the things of God are discerned only by those with the spirit of God. To have God's spirit, one must be born again in Jesus Christ. Why? Jesus said, "if you have not the Son, you have not the Father".

There is no god or holy spirit. The Bible was written by men, and their words are really not that hard to comprehend. You're just trying to read too much in them.
