Isn't that bad enough? Actually, the other thing that is bad about it is that the goop that comes out of your eye can make you wake up in the morning with your eye sealed shut. The stuff is like glue. Nasty!

There ae many reasons for pink eyes, which is the term for bloodshot, infected eyes
* Viral conjunctivitis usually affects only one eye and causes excessive eye watering and a light discharge.
* Bacterial conjunctivitis affects both eyes and causes a heavy discharge, sometimes greenish.
* Allergic conjunctivitis affects both eyes and causes itching and redness in the eyes and sometimes the nose, as well as excessive tearing.
* Giant papillary conjunctivitis (GPC) usually affects both eyes and causes contact lens intolerance, itching, a heavy discharge, tearing and red bumps on the underside of the eyelids.
Get to a doctors office so you can be diagnosed as to which type of red eye you have.
You only have one set of eyes for this lifetime. Protect your baby blues! ;-], or browns, hazels, greys, charcoals etc

In the old days they didn't have drops for it and had to massage the bacteria out of the eye.
It is nasty but won't cause you to go blind.
A great trick to get all that nasty goo off is to just use a warm wash rag.

It's a disease of the eye. If you don't see a physician right away and you let it continue, you could loose your eye sight. It HAS to be treated.

If left untreated it can lead to serious infection and even cause blindness. Go to webMD.com and check it out.
