At the risk of stating the obvious, one has salt and the other does not. Unsalted butter is available because certain recipes call for use of the butter itself (for fat content), but having salt in it would affect the chemical reaction during baking, for example. Thus, the choice between the two. Also, some people follow no-salt diets and want to be able to buy butter without salt.

the only difference is one has salt and the different does not. Unsalted butter is favored many times while baking because of the fact various recipes will already upload salt or it wont be necessary. Salted butter is super while it quite is a get up component working example toast with butter... the style is lots extra friendly for my area with salted butter.

Many recipes ask to use unsalted butter so extra salt is not added to the recipe. Due to differences in processing it actually cost more to have butter without salt. Gets me mad that Costso does not have unsalted butter.

The first has salt, the latter doesn't. People on no salt diets can use the latter. Also unsalted butter is preferable in baked goods such as cookies, cake, etc.... To saute vegetables you might prefer salted.

The unsalted one obviously has no salt content. For health reasons, better to go for the unsalted one. Also recommended for people with high blood pressure and elderly people also.

Salted butter tend sto be used more for cooking, while unsalted tends to be used more for baking.
