The smell of onions on your hands can be removed by
wetting hands then sprinkling with Baking Powder and
rubbing the paste all over – then wash in cold water.
Guarantee it works!

Kitchen Lemon Hand Saop from the Antibacterial line at Bath & Body Works, keep it by the sink! It's getting close to Christmas they will be running a special usually 3 for $10.00, & I think Pampared Chef makes something like that too.

Take a stainless steel utensil, must be stainless. Rub all over your hands while running under water. That should remove most of the smell.
The juice of a lime or lemon works pretty well too.

Try rubbing a stainless steel spoon all over it, it is a chemical reaction, takes the smell right out.

If you have a stainless steel sink, rub them on that. If you don't, you can get a bar that's made just for that. You could maybe make do with a spoon, though I think a bit of texture may help.
