I have been with my boyfriend for a year, and he believes that he was my first. I feel like I have been living a lie. What's the best way to approach this and not living him devastated.

You need to tell him ASAP. The longer you "live the lie" the harder the blow will be to him. If you want to stay with him you've got to tell him now before you guys get any further in the relationship.
Try and explain reasons as to why you didn't tell him, HOPEFULLY they are good ones. It's going to be a tough situation regardless, but you've got to do it.

Too late. You've already lied to him. Now, tell him the truth. Tell him there are no other lies out there (unless there are). Get it all in the open & ask forgiveness. Then prepare to take the consequences for your lies. Good luck, honey.

um honestly i wouldn't say anything.. unless you want him to mistrust you forever...
you should have been more honest from the begining and told him the truth.. he's not going to be happy you lied to him
especially about that!
sorry he's going to mad when you tell him..
so either sit on this lie and keep it to yourself..and make you sure you don't slip up
or hope that he can forgive you
