Why I don't believe: I don't believe because

A. Organized religion is a crock.
B. If God did exist, he would not be a benevolent God like the religions say, a true benevolent ruler would look out for his people, the idea that free will gets in the way of this is BS.
C. Many conflicting arguments that feel they are 100% right.
D. Scientific evidence starting to mount up that religions are wrong.
E. The fact that some religions are based around 2000 year old scriptures written by primitive dumb men, and others just by dumb men at a different point in time.
F. The fact that nothing is stated about the previous 4.59999999 billion years before man was here.
G. The fact that he hasn't shown up for centuries.

I could keep going..

I know you won't feel the same way as I do, but I think that is the reason for your question. I believe it is a form of brainwashing. Parents repeat whatever "rules" of their religion to their children. I didn't have that as a child and now that I am old enough to make my own decisions, I make them logically. It is hard for an adult to believe in all the things involved in religion, unless you were taught them as a child. I have never witnessed a "miracle" by God. I have however seen people die cruel deaths, and terrible things happen to good religious people.
Nobody will ever convince a religious person there is no God, and no religious person will ever convince and athiest otherwise. There is no proof of God, so it has to be a "belief"
I need proof.

I have researched religion and came to the conclusion that there is no god. I can think for my self, I don't need a bible nor a god to tell me how to live my life. I take responsibility for my actions. No one can prove that god exist. The bible is 97& BS! Several christians are hypcrotipites and rude uptight wanna-be know it all's and I would never want to be like them. The bible was written by man not by god, and it was written way too long ago to be followed for this day in time. Women were treated poorly in the bible, the bible is suppose to be god's word so he supported how women were treated.

I have never gotten any sign that any god exists. I can't see him, hear him, feel him or anything. I can't see his work either, I see different explanations behind things religion explains by saying God did it. So I have no reason to believe he exists. I won't believe that some book is true because it's written in that book that it's true. I need actual evidence to be able to believe, something that actually makes sense. Until any god decides to show himself to me I won't believe he exists elsewhere than in people's imagination.

I'm an Atheist because I don't believe in God, obviously. And I don't believe in God because I think the Christian Mythology is unrealistic; I can think of several natural explanations for the things people believe in; and I have come to realize that people want to be decieved. Our brains are wired for it. These are my beliefs and it is only natural for me to conclude that God does not exist.

Well, why do you believe? It goes the same way. If you can't come up with an answer other than "Because the Bible/my parents/the church tells me it's there" then it's the same thing. Basically, whatever proves the existance of God to you, the opposite goes for athiests

I believe John Lennon said it best:
Imagine there's no heaven
It's easy if you try
No hell below us
Above us only sky
Imagine all the people
Living for today...

Imagine there's no countries
It isn't hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
And no religion too
Imagine all the people
Living life in peace...

You may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will be as one

Imagine no possessions
I wonder if you can
No need for greed or hunger
A brotherhood of man
Imagine all the people
Sharing all the world...

God cannot be proven nor disproven. In the absence of proof for the existence of a thing, the correct logical default is to assume the nonexistence pending proof.

It's that simple, really.

Because I don't have a reason to believe. Prove me there is a god, and maybe I'll believe. In the meantime, the 'by default' attitude is not to believe.

Bring God by my place tonight for dinner, and I'll believe anything you want. Until then, there's no proof, so there's no God.
