My 19 month old's hair is out of control. When she was a baby I cut it bc it grew in uneven and was kind of thin is some places. Since then it is much fuller and even but still pretty short for a little girl. It's short enough where I can't really do anything with it and she doesn't like berrettes. I want it to grow in so people will stop confusing her for a boy. But since I stopped cutting, it seems unkempt and in her face alot. I DO NOT want to give her bangs...I hated those as a child.

So, does anyone else have this problem? What do I do with her hair in the meantime and will it eventually grow in so it looks more "girlie"?

My 22 month old has the same problem with her hair. It's always in front of her eyes but it doesn't really bug her. And I refuse to cut bangs. But I feel like a bad mom whenever people make comments about it. She always rips barrettes out as soon as I put them in. The only thing I've found to work is those little plastic rubber bands, but I only use them for special occasions or when I know we are going out to see people (especially grandparents who will make comments). Since they take so long to get in right with her moving around. Otherwise I just let her hair do it's own thing and hope it will grow fast. You could try using styling products like hair spray, gel, or mousse if you really want it out of her face. But if it's not bugging her maybe just leave it alone.

I have a cousin who is now 5 and just have enough to put ponytails. When she was young her mother just let it be free. She would put little head bands on to push it out her face. It is okay her hair will grow and she will have a lot of hair. Just give it time.

My 23 mo old girl has curly frizzy hair, still very short, but long enough I can put little hair ties in, however she takes them out within mins so she kinda looks goofy all the time

Pull a little on top and put a cute little ponytail on top of her head. That's how I had my hair until I was in 1st grade..maybe try that? My hair wasn't very long either but it was still able to be in a small ponytail.

My daughters hair sounds the same as yours, I get her to sit still for a little while whilst I put two french plaits on either side of a century parting, coming from the center of her head right down towards the ears. This seems to keep it from getting in her eyes-I hate bangs too!
How does she sit still? CBeebies!

Infusium leave in conditioner works wonders on uncontrollable or slow growing hair. Make sure you don't get any in her eyes. When washing, just rinse with water- shampooing no more than once a week.

Since she does not like barrettes you can always use headbands or wraps. Their are all different styles that she will like.
