Out of my last two, as some people saw it, asinine questions, there was in fact a point to there existence, I find it horrible and downright stupid that many atheists and "biblical scholars" continue to take the bible out of context. The bible is not always literal. One must take into consideration the language of the time and the metaphors. While both Atheists and religious alike are guilty of this, I am more appalled at the religious, they should sincerely know better than to do this. The purpose of these questions was to prove that one MUST consider the time in which these statements were made in order to understand there context.

To those of you who do not believe me and claim the bible is to be taken literally, please go and find the deadliest snake and handle it to see if your sinless, this is what the bible tell you to do.
Bonus question, when Jesus refers to getting a camel through the eye of a needle what does he mean?

Since you already answered yourself in the first part here then is:
"...claim the bible is to be taken literally, please go and find the deadliest snake and handle it ..." The Bible does NOT tell us to go and handle snakes. The quote is, "They shall take up serpents;...", definitely NOT an instruction to go annoy a snake of any kind. The rest of the quote states, "... and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover...", which is once again NOT an instruction to drink poison. It does say, however, to 'lay hands on the sick', a practice that is not readily available these days.
For your 'bonus' question, "Bonus question, when Jesus refers to getting a camel through the eye of a needle what does he mean?"
The needle refers to the man-sized door in a city gate. Usually too small for a camel to pass through.

I don't think the Bible is completely literal. I don't know many atheists who think that. There are some parts of the Bible that I do think the authors thought literal. You have to take the verses in the context of those who wrote them.
That said, there are many general themes and claims that the Bible makes that I find wrong-minded. There are a few bits of wisdom in there, but much of it is bad teaching.

Ive notice something in both of your questions - something your God refers to as JUDGEMENTAL. Twice, in both questions, you refered to how "stupid" atheists are, because they missed the point of your trick question...
Isnt that Judge not, lest ye be judged thing something your God taught? Why is it you people have such a hard time understanding that commandment? I dont know about you, but I see no problem with metaphors or taking out of context or anything with that commandment, yet you fail to follow it.
Your God is surely smiling upon you for being so intelligent and judgemental.

I am sorry that your questions were considered asinine, but people have handled venomous snake before in Alabama to prove their faith and that are clean. My mom taught that a needle was actually a very tiny door, that a camel could not fit through.

For your bonus question....Jesus was referring to a rich man entering the kingdom of heaven and that it would be easier for a camel to go through the eye of needle. Well, as we all know a camel through the eye of a needle is impossible. If this is impossible, then it is also impossible for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven.

So true. People these days use little common sense and truly don't want to think. I couldn't have said it better myself. I am somewhere in the middle of it all. Somehow I think the snake biting experiment will not be performed anytime soon(lol).

Jesus was talking about an architectural design used in the time that is still common in muslim architecture.
The 'needle' is the passage way that looks similiar to a flask on a narrow stand (take a rectangle and a heart. Point the heart's point upward and put it atop the narrow rectangle).

it is true that you have to take everything in context, but when it comes to how a xtian should live his life, as covered in paul's epistles, its pretty much literal. not judging, loving others no matter what, putting god first.
why religious people (which its not the same as Xtian) would know better? there fanatics anyway.

HE was referring to the camel going through the small gate into the City as the gate was so low everyone had to stoop to get through just in case they were enemies.
