In other countries it isn't Friday 13 that is unlucky; for example here in Spain for some reason it's Tuesday! They say "On Tuesday, neither travel nor marry."
Friday is because of Good Friday, when Jesus was crucified, and 13 because Judas was the 13th one in the group (12 Ap's + Jesus) and sold him out. (Or from a pagan viewpoint, 7 is a perfect number. 14 is twice 7, so 13 is "imperfect.")
It's just another Friday, the calendar is full of them.

Friday the Thirteenth is considered unlucky because that was the day the King Phillip of France ordered the arrest of the Knights Templar.
Religion and superstition go hand in hand.
You state an historic fact and you get a thumbs down???

Funny you mention that, because my fiance and I were going to get married this Friday because 13 is our favorite number and neither of us believe in that kind of superstition. Friday the 13th is just like any other day. BTW, we're not getting married on Friday now, but not because we chickened out; she wanted her family to be able to come. So go ahead and have a normal day Friday!

How stupid and invented is this, that actually in some places (like Argentina) the unlucky day is supposed to be Tuesday 13th., not Friday 13th. You see, it's all made-up, cultural, and nonexistent.
Friday is a good day for me, no matter the date, because it's Friday, the last day before weekend.

properly, it relies upon. How wealthy is the different individual? in the event that they are making boat lots, it is going to be in simple terms yet another day, with some lost money. in the event that they are suffering, it may be unlucky. My day has been like all different so a ways. i've got in no way had undesirable/good success on Friday the thirteenth, it is often in simple terms yet another day for me. and that i advise human beings comprehend that too. :)

I always make it a point to make it a good day. As far as the number 13 goes, it's my favorite number for many reasons. Mine and my Dad's birthday is Oct. 13th. My Mom's birthday is Dec. 13th. Their anniversary is May 13th. Mine and my husband's anniversary is April 13th (not planned that way). Both of our son's birthdays are on June 13th (born exactly 1 yr. apart). This Friday the 13th is my 40th birthday! It's going to be a spectacularly great day!!!!

None !
In 1582, the Pope changed the calendar {the New Year was on April the first } and since then we acknoledged that the monk Denis mistook the year of the birth of Jesus Christ so we probably began the 21st century in 1993 !
The day is what you want to do when you awake.

I do not live my life bound by irrational fears. I pay no attention to Friday the 13th; never worry about stepping on sidewalk cracks; think cats are beautiful, even if their color happens to be solid black; and care more about the view from the 14th floor than about it really being the 13th floor.
Never walk under a ladder--now that, on the other hand, is good, rational advice.

The number 13 was a charmed number among older pagan beliefs. When the Roman Catholic Church went on its world domination kick it made 13 and anything else sacred to the pagans into bad luck symbols.

I thought it was only unlucky because of a) an Anglican tradition and b) the whole Knights Templar massacre.
I'm not really phased by it, though my mum is having our cat euthanised on Thursday to avoid Friday 13th.
