Yes I was. I missed out on a lot of dates as a teenager because of that shyness. I was afraid of being turned down. Then i realized being turned down is part of the game and that the girl wasn't rejecting me she just didn't have that intial spark of interest. I stopped taking being turned down as personally and found that I ended up with more dates than I had ever expected. I still got turned down but if you keep trying eventually you'll get someone that says yes.

Good luck to you.

I took chances...and I got rejected a lot (my awkward stage lasted from 2nd grade to about the middle of my junior year in high school).
The reason why I did it was because I didn't want to miss out on anything...even if there was just a chance...I'd take it.
And eventually I just stopped being so desperate and I found guys were after me...

Yeah, I was one of those kids. As I grew up I just got more confidence and more experience.

I learned that being shot down is a little embarrassing, but it doesn't really hurt. Right now I'm learning the art of "going down in flames: with style."

I liked to take chances when it came to dating. I would ask a guy out if I was interested in him. If nothing came from it, not a big deal. I tried not to let it affect my ego. Its all about having confidence going into the situation.
