To vent their spleen and make themselves feel bigger and cooler than others. To get some imaginary "payback" on someone they consider offended them whenever. To offend and upset people (as they think) so they can sit in front of the computer screen and laugh maniacally like some bad guy out of Batman. To pretend they have a life.

It's not a Christian topic board... There are many religions other than those in the Abrahamic tradition, and many paths of spirituality that have nothing to do with religion.

This site is not just for Christians. It is for Religion and Spirituality, that covers many different things and yes Atheists do fall into this group.

I am not an Atheists yet I do very much understand who and what they are. I do weclome honest questioning from them becuase I not only understand what I believe better, I also understand and see why they don't believe much better than I did before.

Many atheists think we as Christians are gullible Hillbillies. So they like to make fun and build themselves up some how.
I've read books by men who sought out to 'show the world' that Christianity is a load of dog poop and are now God fearing born again believers.
One is Lee Strobel, an ex-investigative reporter for the Chicago Tribune who describes himself as a "former spiritual skeptic,"
He set out to prove his new christian wife wrong! He's now a believer. There are many more like CS Lewis. Knock and the door will be opened.

Curiosity. Some of the views expressed here particularly by Christians I just find incredible.

I never saw the word Christian on the header, it's Religion and Spirituality which encompasses any religion, spiritual practice, or lack of such.

Because it is an open forum and they have every bit as much a right to come and ask questions about religion as you do. Perhaps they come to learn something. Or perhaps they are here to test your faith. If your faith is strong then it should not bother you.

So just because someone doesn't believe the tenets of a religion means they can't have an opinion on it?

Why don't you follow your own logic then: since you haven't had an abortion, you shouldn't have an opinion on it; since you're not in Iraq, please don't voice your opinion on it....ad nauseam

Actually, maybe that WOULD be a good idea.
