I took Seasonale, and it gave me a small clot in my right calf vein. Because of this, the doctor has said I cannot be given estrogen anymore. He gave me Depo Provera, but after seeing how much weight women gain while on it, I was wondering what else there was for me.

If estrogen isnt an option - progesterone only preps (depo shot, micronor) In my experience people don't gain all that much weight. By watching what you eat and exercising regularly this shouldnt be an issue. Other options are an IUD (mirena) which can be implanted by a doctor. There are of course barrier methods (condoms) but these should be used with spermicide to increase effectiveness. Tubal ligation is a more permanent option. Of course, nothing is safer than abstinence. :)

Condoms and Spermicide gels. NO SEX AT ALL.

Depo Prover is in generic available. Cheaper! Join a gym with money saving. JOG! Just don't sit on your Azzz all day long.

All need to excercise! Watch your food intake. Skip the pop! Skip the diet pop. Go with water.

Not all women gain weight with Depo. I was on it for four years and never gained an ounce. Each woman reacts differently to each type of BC. If you're really that worried, stick to condoms, or don't have sex at all.

Progesterone-based hormonal methods (depo or mini pills, which are progresterone-only pills.), IUD, barrier (condom, cap, diaphragm), fertility awareness (very complicated, need proper instruction by health care professional, only for people with regular periods).

well you could go for the tubectomy- which is permanent.
for a temporary measure, you could go for a copper T. or use a women's condom(yes, there is one). you could also, of course, tell ur mate to wear protection.
