You have to ask your grandmother, she'll tell you, or your aunt , where they lived will give you many clues. And we have pow-wows every summer in the five boroughs and New York state.
If you're from the Cherokee tribe you can contact Ms. Mankiller, she's the current chieftain.

heck if I knew that i would be a registered native american too. I have heard the mormon church helps and makes it easy but never tried it myself. If you find out, let me know!
