I have two teenagers who can't swallow pills. One has medical reasons, the other one has such a high gag reflex he just can't get them down. There are chewable children's doses, why don't they make chewable ibuprophen and tylenol for adults? I'm sure there are elderly who would do better if they could chew instead of swallow . I know there is a liquid Tylenol, but it is so expensive!

I had a mental block with this for YEARS...I learned to swallow pills by taking Advil caplets (never the round ones!) and take it with milk....the milk coats the caplets and they slide right down. Liqui-Gels work well too. I've never opened up a liqui-gel so I don't know what it tastes like, but maybe you could take that..? They do have aspirin gum for adults...and I think they've come out with a dissolving aspirin as well. You are not alone, my friend.

I just saw a commercial last night for chewable Tylenol GoTabs- I don't know how expensive it is, though.

I find that if you use an adult dose of children's medicine it works as well because it does have the same ingredient , the dose shown is just smaller. If you want to take 800 mil of something for example you would take 2 400 mil of adult whereas if you have childrens medicine you would take 4 200 mil and it wool be the same.

Check the dosage and have them chew the same dose of children's pain reliever as adult. I used to do that, works the same. 100 mg of chewable baby aspirin is the same as 100 mg of adult aspirin.

Try the generic liquid tylenol. Generic brands of medicine have to go through the same testing as name brand.

You could also talk to your child's doctor and see if they have anything they can offer you.

Excedrin does. I have a couple of them (in plastic peel open packs) in my car in case I get a headache from driving during rush hour.
