If I recall correctly, when I got married approximately 10 years ago, the suggested amount to us was $100.

My father is a minister and he gets about $30 - $50 for his weddings (he usually does small ceremonies). He doesn't charge for funerals.

He didn't do my wedding but a friend of the family did. We paid him $50, even though he didn't ask for it.
If you are marrying someone from the church you are getting married in there may be a formal charge that covers both teh church fee and the official fee. I'd ask if the church fee includes that. Some churches don't make you pay for using their services (like if you are a member, etc) I didn't have to pay for my church because my dad is a minister, but we made a donation to the church anyway.

Depends on what your paying to get married. I think 20% is about right.... so $500 you would pay $50.
Some place don't take tips or have a set price.
We are paying for a package that includes church, organ player, flowers, candles, runners and parking attented for $1,400..... so the clergymans cost and tips are built in.

Depends on the job they did. Read aloud and understandable. Did he show for the practice wedding vow day? How far did this clergy person travel? Does he already have a set fee? Find out!

I was thinking around $35 to $50 range. Consider his health. Fat and obese? or scrawny and skinny and can use the money for himself?

I think it depends on how much time they spend with you. Is he a stranger? Does he get to know the bride and groom, do a bit of counseling first and stuff? I would say in general $200 to $300.

When this question came up for our wedding we asked our wedding planner and she said that the typical going rate was about 50-75 dollars but she said that it really depended on your preference with the pastor. We paid our pastor 150.00. He actually returned this money to me though (I didn't realize what it was) he didn't want us to pay him.

my dad was a minister and he did not have any set price for weddings or funerals...i think he just left it up to the family or the people involved...a minister is worthy of his hire though...it says that in the bible...my dad was raising 8 children until i had a sister die of leukemia...and my dad passed away may 1 2005 so i can not ask him anything now...i can not believe he is gone...but you might ask some ministers may have a set price for doing weddings...i think it is different in different denominations too...
