I have long wavy hair and I need to straighten it but do not know which size is better. So many people I know with long hair told me that they prefer the regular size and it's less expensive but wouldn't the extra-wide be better and faster to straightened and worth the difference in price- like $10 difference?

Yes, the extra width is worth it. It goes so much faster than with the narrow ones. The price isn't enough to be a deciding factor here. You should get what's going to be more convenient for you.

Choose the smaller one. It will give you opportunity to pay close attention to your scalp and more hair without just going over it with the 1 3/8

If you have long thick hair the wider straightener would be better. It will take you less time to straighten your hair.

i exploit the extra beneficial-extensive one... makes the approach flow somewhat quicker. you are able to straighten larger sections at a time. Plus, with the wider plate, it gets somewhat warmer, so the sections could nicely be thicker too. i think of it incredibly is purely a count of private decision... mine's the extra beneficial extensive one. And in the journey that your hair is somewhat on the waxy area, you may like it, too.

Yeah, youre probably correct to get the wider one if your hair is merely wavey and not real curly already. ;)
