It means they are shallow. Isn't there something else to talk about?
My guess is a woman who asks this question has a sackful of underwear that's been left behind, and she's trying to make sure it is returned to the rightful owner.

It means...breifs are out of style and not really sexy at least not the white ones, so when a woman asks she wants to know if he is trendy or sexy, or if he is like old fashioned and sqaure?
