Coriander is good, but not the same. Coriander goes well with chicken if you make your own soup, tho... Cilantro can make a cream sauce taste good, but it won't overshadow the cream's flavor, only accent it. Take care!

Cilantro or Cilantrillo in spanish... you may use it in different kind of sauces, meats, poultry, seafood or as part of a salad.

For example for fish - On a saucepan, heat some extra virgin olive oil (1 tbsp), add some real butter (about 5 tbps), put it on med-hi heat, when melting add some chooped garlic, salt and pepper, wait until garlic get cooked but not burned...if you see signs of burning turn off the heat and remove... then add as much cilantro you want and fresh lime juice. Do not let the cilantro to overcook.

Add some Cilantro to your favorite Ranch, BLT or Garden Saldad.

Combine Lime Juice, salt, pepper, cilantro a Heavy Cream for a Salad Dressing.

Add chopped Cilantro to your favorite Adobo Recipe.

Garnish with cilantro instead of parsley.

Try adding some cilantro to chicken salad, it makes it wow. I like it pimento cheese also, there is much you can do with it. I even add a few leaves to a sandwich like letuce. Cilantro and coriander are from same plant but do not tast the same at all.

first here is the definition of cilantro : Cilantro is a member of the carrot family and is botanically-known as Coriandrum sativum. The plant and leaves are called cilantro in the Americas, while the seeds (used as a spice) are called coriander

Im not big on the taste of cilantro, but If you take 1 cup of sour cream, 3 tablespoons of chopped cilantro, a pinch of salt. fresh ground pepper, a few red pepper flakes and mix it well, then store in in the fridge to chill, it's great on mexican dishes, my son loves it on his tacos, like a kicked up sour cream

I love to mix chopped up (seeded) tomatoes with lots of finely chopped garlic, chopped cilantro, a bit of lime juice and a jalapeno - you could also add green or red pepper, and chopped onion. Let it sit for awhile - chilled, then enjoy your fresh homemade salsa. Vary the ingredients according to your tastes. (watch the salt - it is a necessary evil it adds taste, but draws juice out of tomatoes, and you could end up with watery sauce)

Coriander is the same as cilantro, but when cilantro is dried, it does NOT taste the same - it is one of those things, like ginger, where dried cannot be substituted for fresh.

also - I love guacamole made with plenty of cilantro, garlic, onion, chopped tomato, jalapeno, lime juice etc. whatever - make it how you like it.

You could also sprinkle fresh cilantro into store-bought salsa to freshen the taste.

I like sprinkling fresh chopped cilantro on rice, enchiladas, soups, sandwiches, you name it. If you're willing to try pesto, mine is standard basil pesto, but half cilantro/half basil leaves. Make as usual. Happy eating!
