Macdoodle- saying go to hell does not necessarily translate into I hate you. It's just telling someone where to go.
Pamela V- when my Irish grandfather arrived to the U.S. he was greeted with signs from employers that read "No Irish Need Apply". So get off your self righteous crusade and stick to the subject at hand please.

Protest all they want. If they kept their country up to better standards their people wouldn't be trying to escape. Course, they like that flow of money being sent back across their border.
Raisin a glass ta the auld man! I say the same.

particular they are able to. bear in recommendations, the UN isn't purely diplomatic, it is political. many human beings in suits will placed on long faces below their translating headphones and intone solemn speeches. confident, those human beings throw words around. that's what diplomats do. The knowledgeable individual will comprehend that a Berlin-type wall with Mexico isn't racist, however this is a manifestation of jingoistic panic. do not complication, the wall won't ensue. And if Chile rumbles in the UN, it purely underlines Chile's loss of economic clout in the international.

Would your Irish Grandfather have approved of the English taking over Northern Ireland? There is probably a fence there too.

Pamela V needs to read her history books and shut up. Our Irish grandfathers came over here WAY after the Native American Indians were forced out. Blame the right people.

I can't get past Pam V! Most of the Irish immigrants came here during the Potato Famine, and that was a wee bit past (about 8 years) when the Trail of Tears took place, or am I wrong?

They may well be able to do so, but our government has confirmed repeatedly that they are not subject to the jurisdiction of any foreign court, so they would simply ignore the UN on this point.
What is very telling is that the Mexican government does NOT want to help us stop illegal border crossings, because they rely on the US dollars wired back to their country every month to keep their own heads above water.

Mexico is protesting because they do not want to fix the problems in their own country. They want them to all come over to our country and live off of our government, so they do not have to deal with it. If they gave their people the opportunity to be educated and better themselves, then maybe they would not be coming into this country, or any other country. They would have the right to protest on THEIR side of the border!!! If they would stay there or come here legally, there would never be an issue of a wall!!!!! Why do they have a problem with it anyways?? Because they can no longer freeload off of our tax dollars anymore?

No they dont. It is our border. It can be compared to the neighbor who put up a fence that you hate. As long as it is on his side of the line there is nothing you can do.

The UN should get back to Mexico by pointing out how they restrict immigration into their own country - Mexicans hate (and often abuse) people from El Salvador, Honduras, and Nicaragua.
