dog fighting has been going on for centeries. It started as a form of entertainment. It was very popular, several breeds were even created for that so called "sport". Pitts are the most common. Many countries have banned the events today. I feel sorry for those dogs. People have had some barbaric ways to entertain themselves.

Are you talking about dog dog fights or the airplane type dog fights?

it was done in the old days england i think,but it was more of a sport they didnt fight to the death,the owners handled thier dogs in the pitsdog fighting today is why pitbulls have the rap they do when infact its the sorryass owners that make them that way

Wikepedia has a pretty good article about it. apparently this has been going on since dogs first became domesticated. dog fighting was viewed (and I guess some people still view it) as entertainment.
