i have recently started dating this awesome guy, i know he likes me, through his actions and has stated it, but won't talk about "us"... he clams up! He's been hurt in the past, so i'm not sure if he's attempting to learn to trust me or what.

i think a lot of guys have a big wall around the emotion part of their brains, and when they are hurt more bricks are added, all you have to do is get the hypothtical bulldozer and break it down. open up to him and see if that helps him. if it doesn't say to him "i know you've been hurt in the past, would you like to talk to someone about it." or even "i know you've been hurt, and it's a horrible feeling, i would never wish that feeling on anyone" and he'll get the picture that you aren't going to hurt him.

I`m the Mother of 3 Adult Son's and i can tell you from experience with them that a lot of Guys don't talk about emotions because they been hurt by a Girl in the Past that they really cared about... so they tend to close up and hide their true feelings so they won't get hurt again... DO NOT PRESSURE A GUY into showing emotions just show him that you really love and trust him and everything will fall into place

When a man gets hurt it messes them up forever and most of them vow to never let there emotions be shown again. They well never be able to give a girl all of them until they get over that pain. So all you can do is just leave him be and don't pressure him about expressing his love etc. That's something he'll have to do when he's good and ready.

You can't force trust. Men are insecure, and showing emotion makes them even more vulnerable. Once he knows that he can trust you with his emotions he will, but that takes time. Especially if he has bad baggage.
You have to show him that you love him or accept him no matter what skeletons he has in his closet.
Guys judge eachother for being emotional and are trained to keep it locked up.

Give him time. Guys don't like to show their emotions because they think that shows that they are weak. To me is the contrary, show emotions, and you are a man. But going back to you. Talk to him and tell him he can trust you, but do not push it. Just say it and leave it alone. Good luck.

Guys are not all mushy like women. He will eventually have that talk with you but he might not be ready for it right now. We tend to read more into things at times. Just be patient!

Have you read the book "Men are from Mars, Women are from Venus"? It sounds silly but it makes a lot of sense and explains a lot about the differences between men and women and how they think. Men are wired differently than we are...does not mean that they are weird, just that they are different.

I dated some one just the same. We dated for five years and he could NEVER talk about the relationship and what it meant to him or 'us'. After 5 years of the same crap, i got the hell out.

Guys just don't want to be all soft and girly so they leave that stuff up to us females. That doesn't mean he doesn't like you , in fact its the complete opposite. They just have this mentality that girls are supposed to be the ones expressing ther feelings.

men have heard for all of time that they should never cry or talk about emotions...i think it is actually a bunch of bs...there is nothing besides the physical appearance of the body that makes us any different than women...just think about it...
