Red does. Some people think it's a myth but it is technically true. red wine has something called tanin's in it. These are usually in darker alcoholic drinks. Basically more tanin's = worse hangover!

Depends on which wine you take? Have had belters on both. Is the reason for your question that you don't want bad hangovers or that you do? Try that RU21 off net (ebay) or Tesco sell it. I also take B-complex vitamins before night out, and some when out (if i remember). With RU21 take about 6 b4 u go out. Does work.
Another thing that I have only tried few times (and i swear it worked better than anything else) is to take a teaspoon (level) of salt - yes common salt, when you come home. Take it dry and swallow it, wait few mins then take drink to get rid of taste. Don't mix with water as you'll be sick. Woke up and was fine.
If object is to have severe hangover then any shitty wine will give you one!

I have to agree about the vodka. I don't advocate getting drunk. A nice afternoon on the balcony with the radio, the sun, a few crosswords and 2 or 3 drinks is more enjoyable than getting drunk. I never go past four drinks these days.
Beer is the safest as long as it is not a dark beer like Guinness. Conventional wisdom is that red wine produces a worse headache. I find I sleep better after drinking wine but wake up earlier. Beer gives me a buzz. White wine doesn't appeal to me; I use it for cooking and as a basis for making wine coolers and punches. Red wine, champagne and blush wine are more up my alley.
If you must get drunk, stick to beer. Do not mix and stay away from sugary drinks. Whisky and rum are better than vodka. Drink water before you go to bed, about a liter. Go to bed shortly after midnight so that you can get enough early morning sleep. Coffee, Alka-Seltzer and brown dry toast get me through. Stay away from sunlight and use sunglasses. Do not eat any dairy or meat that day if it is bad, but sometimes a greasy, salty meal like fried chicken with mashed potatoes, gravy, biscuits covered in butter and a large soda does the trick. You lose a lot of salt and potassium.

The sweeter the wine the worse the hangover. Actually both can cause a whopper of a hangover. It depends again on the sweetness of the wine and the amount you drink.

Red wine has more impurities so it has a higher chance of giving you a hangover.
The clearer an alcoholic beverage is the less of a hangover it will give you. That is why vodka is the best for not getting hangovers.

Red wine is the worst if you purely drink red wine, but white wine is the worst if then go on to drink other kinds of alcoholic beverage.

Absolutely red wine. I don't even have to get drunk on the stuff to feel awful the next day!
The best way I can describe it is that my tongue seems twice as thick as usual and is covered in old carpet, and there is a tiny dwarf with a tiny pickaxe trapped inside my skull trying to get free!!!!

It is a known fact that red wine causes a worse and more frequent headache that white or other libations. The true reason is still unknown.
