Are the bombs great enough to destroy the US? Does the US have forms of defense? Just curious after hearing all this about North Korea. Thanks in advance. =)

So far everything this little man has tried has been somewhat of an embarrassment. The Taepo Dong II literally spiraled out like a defunct firecracker after just 40 seconds after launch. This is the NK's long range missle that could've been primed to hit our western seaboard. The nuclear test the other day was also 'more fizzle than bang'.

I think these two examples were gross failures, but it also works to his advantage because now he has everyone's attention. He's like the chubby, uncoordinated kid in school who always gets picked last. He demands respect and this is the only way he'll get it (in his mind at least).

Now there's talk about whether or not the test was successful. The French comment was pretty smart - they said it would take about 2 weeks to fully figure out what happened and didn't happen, but they didn't want to advertise their thoughts. They don't want to give North Korea the heads up so they will know what to fix.

Splitting atoms, they say, is more difficult than it sounds, and even if you have the recipe, it might not turn out right.

So, is the bomb great enough to destroy the US (or parts of it)? Not yet. Don't know if they can get it over here without us knowing something going on. (I sure hope not.) Would we let it get that far? Again, I hope not. Think about the countries right around there, especially those that are sitting ducks. Nukes certainly change the pecking order, don't they?

Forms of defense - well, I'm sure we aren't where we need to be with that ourselves. There are things we could do, but I think it would get pretty messy.

North Korea is run by a crazy little dude who will want to make his mark on the world before he dies. He probably has some insane plan to reunify the Koreas under his banner. He probably wants to hit Japan because of decades old grudges that began under his father's reign.

They developed nuclear weapons to use them, not look at them.

He does not have an effective means to deliver his weapons, yet.

He should not be allowed the opportunity to develop them.

Dude you do know we (the usa) are the worlds super power ? Of course we have defenses, and no no one nuclear bomb is great enough to destroy a entire country at the best a nuke could destroy a state.

their goal is to take over the world. They want to take over Asia first, Europe second then the USA. So similar to Hitler, don't you think?
