Of course you can.
There isn't anything wrong with that.
As long as you don't give it to them right before they are supposed to eat. It will fill them up. I would say, have them eat there lunch or dinner first, and then give them a smoothie for a dessert.
Your health adviser needs to calm down and not over do it. Most health care adviser's are to uptight saying, don't do this, don't do that.
It wont hurt your kids to get a smoothie once in a while.

I would say that if all that's in the smoothie is fruit then it should be OK. I know what the health visitor means though. After a smoothie, I often feel really full and don't want anything else to eat. SHe's probably thinking that they will not get other vitamins and proteins etc if they have the smoothie instead of a proper meal. But I don't think that one every so often is wrong. Like everything else, in moderation it will be fine. As for decaf tea, I don't think there is much of a problem with this either but isn't it a diuretic in which case it may lead to dehydration?????

There is nothing wrong with giving your children fruit smoothies. That sounds ridiculous that any health advisor would say otherwise. Have you seen some of the things that are marketed for children? I'm sure they are going to eat much worse when they get older. Change your health person.

I can't see the harm of smoothies in moderation - better than ordinary juice anyway. I would not give a child deaffinated tea - I don't think kids should be encouraged to drink tea. A better option might be milk or watered down fruit juice.

If a smoothie is made out of pure fresh fruit yogurt and juice or ice, it can be considered "food" They make great breakfasts. Consider herbal tea because even decaf tea/coffee contains some caffeine.

I let my 2 year old have a smoothie. It doesnt hurt them i think it is good for them plus if they are still cutting teeth it helps sooth that cold is great for everything. Now you just have to watch out for brain freeze. Dont let them drink it too fast. And i wouldnt give them to many of them maybe one a day or every other day. Make it a specail snack or something they would like that.

I wouldn't, too much sugar (even thought its fruit sugar it still ain't good). Let them eat the fruit and give their jaws something to do. Rubbish about tea replacing food, if that was the case i'd be slim!!!! I would rather give them weak decaf than regular.

the smoothies is okay as long as it is small, they do fill children up.you could give them a 4 oz cup of it with lunch.or use it as a replacemet for their afternoon snack even then i would only give them 4 or 6 oz. as for the decaf tea iam not to sure but it wont harm them to have a few sips from your cup

Fruit smoothies without added sugar are fine for the children. I would refrain from he tea until they get older though.

not tea, baby, just water to drink, but a fruit smoothie is good nutrition ,and if you put some wheat grass or spirulina or liquid vitamins in there, so much the better. no sugar! use unsweetened natural yogurt (brown cow or stonyfield is good) and ripe fruit and a little honey
