I have just read an american article. It says that person who smokes remains child till the end. Maybe this person doesn`t feel self-confident or thinks that smoking helps to communicate. What do you think about it?

Nicotine is an anti-anxiety drug. Smoking chemically decreases anxiety so that the smoker does not learn to develop healthy emotional responses to anxiety provoking situations. Developing these responses is critical to emotional maturity. Drug dependence stunts emotional growth.

Well, anyone with an addiction to anything stops progressing emotionally when they start. If they start smoking to deal with life's problems (or drinking, drugging, eating, sex, gambling, etc.) as a teen, then they will always have the emotional age of when they started.

That's a bunch of BS. A lot of people start smoking in their teens. In Europe most people still smoke. Are they all somehow disfunctional? Don't think so...

I know some very adult people who smoke. I dont think it has anything to do with being children but a person who just cant break a disgusting unhealthy habit.
