No need to. Unless he applied for and received advance parole prior to his departure, his asylum status was lost when he left the country. And if he did, then the authorities already know about it.

Political asylum us usually granted through the State Department isn't it? Are they not at least part of the process? I'd check with them.

If you are in the US, call the US Marshall's office that is closest to you and report it to them. If he left here to go there, and our country did not remove him, where he is heading will be much worse if found than what he would get here. If he came from there TO here and should not be, the US Marshalls will coordinate with the proper agenices to get him back where he needs to be.
