I read it over and over again: Christians claiming that gays are an abomination because their lifestyle is contrary to God's will. The problem I find with these statments is that, sure, it's listed in the Bible as a sin right along with hundreds of other sins. Why choose to make such a big deal out of this one. It's listed in a similar area of scripture that implies eating pork is a sin. Why not boycott and persecute pork eaters?

My other problem with it: Jesus never said to hate or declare any other person as an abomination. He said to love people despite how they live because all of our lives are abominations to God before and after finding salvation. We're all sinners. What makes gays and lesbians "worse" sinners than us? Sin isn't judged on a scale, at least not one I can find in any Bible. So, whose morals are you really defending? Are you sure they're not your own?

Okay, some people have contradicted themselves. The word "abomination" primarily occurs in the Old Testament. If you don't follow the Old Testament you can't then argue the abomination thing. Also, abomination refers to, again, multiple, multiple things. Why choose this one?

I'm with you on this one.
Homosexuality is a sin.
Homosexuals are people.
Jesus died for ALL people.
Their sins are no worse than ours or anyone else's.
And those "God hates fags" people are totally out to lunch!!!!!!

1. The pork thing was specific to the people of the Old Testament;and after the flood of Noah we were given permission to eat meat. We live in the New testament not the old.

2. You obviously dont understant the word abomination as God used it. Abomination means worse or lower; lower than all the other sins, worse than the sins mentioned in the Ten commandments. If God calls someting an abomination that means he considers it worse than the wrest of the sins and is something we should stay away from, cuase there's nothing good to come out of engaging in any of the sins stamped as abominations

3. So Yes! Were defending the morals God (Jesus Christ) layed down. You or anyone else would be a fool to think that were just defendin our own inividual morals

You said "Jesus never said to hate or declare any other person as an abomination" - you are correct. I do not hate the person in any way. As Christ does, I hate the Sin of homosexuality along with all other sins. Am i perfect and live without sin? absolutely not. I too sin. How can i condem another person for thier sin? I do however Hate my sin just as i hate thiers.

I think the homosexual community gets so much grief from the christian community because christians are tired of having the homosexual agenda shoved down thier throats (no pun intended) Yes homosexuality is a sin, just as murder, theft, lying, etc. but i would never hate the person because of their sin. to do so would be to hate myself. All have sinned and fallen short.

But the TRUTH still stands:

1 Corinthians 6:9-10

9 Have you not knowledge that evil-doers will have no part in the kingdom of God? Have no false ideas about this: no one who goes after the desires of the flesh, or gives worship to images, or is untrue when married, or is less than a man, or makes a wrong use of men,
10 Or is a thief, or drunkard, or makes use of strong language, or takes by force what is not his, will have any part in the kingdom of God.

People rather look at anyone elses sin but there own. I agree being gay is a sin and so are many other things. Lust is, adultery is, love of money is, and this list can go on. Thats why Jesus said he who is without sin cast the first stone. I couldnt even begin to pick up a stone cause I know I have my own sin and I sure dont need to worry about what others are doing. God will take care of them.

I am a Christian and I find the SIN of homosexuality an adomination but I do not HATE homosexuals. I have had friends who are homosexuals and I feel it's our responsibility to reach out to them to try to SAVE them, not condemn them. These are the very people Jesus would be reaching out to if He was walking on the earth today. Remember the woman at the well? The town was ready to STONE HER because of her adultry. Do you think it's coincidence Jesus was there that day? No. He went for her. To save her. He saved her then told her - GO AND SIN NO MORE. He didn't say I want to hang out with you and be your friend and go places with you so that everybody can see that I'm cool with what you are doing. He forgave her, told her to stop how she was living, and then He left. The dilemma with homosexuals is that they refuse to see that their lifestyle is sinful. They want it to be ACCEPTED and even embraced by everyone. At least the woman at the well acknowledged she was living in sin and made the choice to change her life.

Sin is sin. God doesn't judge on scale. As humans, it's our nature to do that. Do you feel that gossiping about someone is the same as killing them? No! But it is sin in God's eyes. He can forgive of murder, he can forgive homosexuality, he can forgive gossip - it's all covered under the blood. The thing is - after forgiveness - GO AND SIN NO MORE!!!

I whole heartedly agree with you.

People are important, more so than the sins.
Salvation is the key that everyone is looking for. I can see possibly where many have the right idealism's, however the wording may be rather strongly typed and inaccurately proposed as either or.

And Jesus did sit with the sinners without judgement.

The way I see it is that a sin is a sin! No sin is greater or lesser then the other. The fact is that if we live in sin (any sin) we will be condemned w/o the saving grace of Jesus Christ. Jesus also calls us to Love one another, and not to judge for fear of being judged yourself. There is only ONE judge! God.

Read Romans 1

And yes, sin is sin

Homosexuality, fornication, and adultery are ALL SIN

Christians should really pick up the Bible and read it. We are all to conform to Christ. Not just homosexuals.

I can love a person but not the sin. I also, am not going to support their sin.

Oh yeah....about pork.....read the New Testament. You can eat it.

not eating pork was because of Jewish law. When Jesus came, the law was replaced although most Jewish people still observe it because they don't believe Jesus is the messiah. As far as gays, mainly because they are so open and arrogant about their sickness. Any sin that becomes rampant and threatens the family is a concern. These people are still practicing it they haven't changed and probably won't as they actually think it is ok.

i agree with you, let him who has no sin cast the first stone, we judge too quickly, but as for why we do, my outlook on it is that we are trying to get this under control before every 3 out of 7 are gay, and for the pork eaters, we have been eating pork since the beginning of time basically, we do need to cut back and then drop off, of the pig, if this helps you out, i am glad to be of help to a fellow christian, but if not, keep searching till your satisfied with the answer

All sin is equal in the sight of God and has the same reward
All people are equal in the sight of God and are offered the same grace.
Jesus as our example loves the person but rejects the sinful action(s)
