Yes, your question is very thoughtful. It is about the same activity, then and now..... now with a little more sophistication, .. so what is the big difference, and what other purpose could be there ?
Yes this is a very ancient question.. and the foremost question that takes a person on spiritual path. The main gate to this path consists of perception deeper than the sense organs, and the key to it lies in deepening our self-awareness with incessant observation of the self, as far as possible being a very alert and non-interfering witness ! The quality of watching is what improves and takes us deeper to newer levels of consciousness, and reveals the very purpose of everything.

When we were children we did what our parents told us. As we grow older we see the big picture. The purpose of life is to be kind to one another. To go out of your way to help your fellow man in any way shape or form.

I once told someone every day we choose to make a choice how our day will be. We can do good or we choose to do evil. At the end of the day God takes account of our good/bad and we have to live with it.

Life is what we make it to be. Give more expect less is what I read somewheres. Makes alot of sense.

Peace, Forgiveness, Faith and Love.

It takes more energy to be mean than it is to be nice.

If we all smiled at the people we meet up with even if we are
having a bad day, that one smile may be just that person needed to make through.

We are really just characters in a novel. Sit down and try and remember the good parts, the taste of that great meal, the caress of that special person. It's kinda' there, but all fuzzy----you just can't quite taste that steak. Unless you're the main character, you mostly just work, and you can't even remember that exactly. You know you did things, and can go back and look, but it was on a different page, or in a different chapter, and once the page is turned, the reality of it is gone. It seems as if we were really alive, we would remember things exactly as they were. Gotta go. Someone turned the page.

There really isn't a main purpose in life. To me, The purpose in life is to find your own purpose your own personal goals. Find what you want out of life and go for it. That to me is to have a purpose. It doesn't matter what anyone says as long as your pursuing your goals then you have a purpose. Its your life, its all up to you. Take Control!

it's not even how long you live ...it's the purpose and the meaning that you personally filled that time with!!!i've outlived so many people and i believe perhaps mistakening that i have learned and discovered much that was hidden and much that was utterly and completely unknown to all but a handful of people before me!!!!i've filled my time with much personal accomplishment that perhaps has only meaning to me ;but i've also communicated a distinct love of life and it's possibilities to many, many people and one point a series of couples had children that they previous said they were determined not to have because of something i had done or said!!that's a great thing!!to have your own children and to impart a love of life to them is the highest order of human existence!!!the more children the better!!which one will be buddah, siddhartha, jesus, mohammed, moses, noah or gandhi??which child is needed most and who has the wisdom to know what need that they will fullfill??be joyous and love and care for your children always and do that one thing well beyond question that is the meaning of life!!!

We were given the chance to experience life! You can look at it like that, but you're missing all the in between stuff, like love.
