These stickers are designed to make you keep your distance. It doesn't actually state whether or not the baby is driving, so you don't take the risk and stay well clear as the baby is not likely to have very well enhanced driving skills.

i don't understand why you have an unusual obession with bumper stickers interior the US.. ? yet i'm useful this REPEATED question HAS BEEN answeared persistently, human beings wont take you so heavily anymore. We interior the united kingdom do not worry with bumper stickers we've flags as a replace. as quickly as we help a team for a interest we positioned on T-shirts for that team. Bumper stickers is fullyyt a US element, by way of fact we talk a similar language .. ish.. does not mean it is going to be a similar here ! we've our very own lifestyle.

These stickers were very popular in the 1980s. They were put in the vehicles primarily to notify rescue personnel that an infant/child is in the car. It is also there to let other drivers know to drive carefully around the vehicle (not tailgate)
That's all they are- a safety thing!
My favorite are the stickers that say "Husband in trunk!" ;)

Because to many lousy drivers ride the *** of other people's cars!! As a parent to two babies i would hope that by putting the sign on the window that drivers would drive more responsibily around me. I find it to be a lot more nervous and stressful to drive with children in the car with me as opposed to driving by myself and if other drivers can respect that then that is great. I guess the baby on board sign to me is asking other drivers for the respect i need to travel with my kids.

Some people erroneously assume that other drivers will care. I once had a driver come up illegally on the wrong side and attempt to cut me off, which would have put me in the lane facing oncoming traffic. Needless to say, I didn't allow him to cut me off. He tailed me like a madman all the way down the street to a light, got out of his car and screamed, "I HAVE A BABY IN THIS CAR!!!!!!!!!"
My response," So why are you driving like such a j*ck*ss!?!?"

Two reasons that I know of:
(1) To alert EMS or help that a child (who may not be seen) is in the vehicle and needs to be rescued if there is an accident.
(2) As a courtesy reminder to other drivers to be careful.

I felt like you did until I had my baby, and then I went out and got one too. I guess I was just hoping that people would see that and drive more safely when they remembered that they put babies lives at danger when they drive reckless. You have an animal instinct to protect your baby, and it's scary driving with a little one when you arent used to it. I know they seem tacky but try not to judge people, and just realize that it's one little thing parents do to try and keep their babies safe.

I guess that it is telling other drivers to hit the car in front of them because they have crumb snatchers in the car. Those things are so tacky, and its always the same parents that put a leash on their kids.
