I assume there are no uranium mines in the United States, or at least within walking distance of the major metropolitain area and the nuclear power plants that supply them.

Prior to initial criticality a thermal fuel such as uranium really isn't that hazardous. New fuel cells are transported dry in crates, usually made of wood, with the halfnium fuel rod inserted fully and locked in place, normally with a bolt that takes a 15/16 wrench to remove. When installing fuel cells in a new reactor, cells are simply aranged and then tacked in place by small welds. In a core undergoing refueling, cells are removed from a partially drained reactor vessel, and new cells are inserted after decontaminating the vessel to the maximum extent possible. control rods are unlocked, and control rod drive mechanisms are installed to latch and move the control rods. the reactor vessel is filled and the rods are withdrawn to acheive criticality.

Actually, there is quite a lot of uranium mined in the US. Transporting the stuff is not particularly hazardous as its level of radioactivity is not very high, even for enriched uranium. Another responder has provided some details.

Bush do not discriminate Muslims to be condemn. In fact, EVERYONE regardless of race and religion is condemned. Think of Chavez, you'll know what I mean. As with the other user before me had said... who cares anyway? He's also in the line of pensioner soon... As with the issue of nuclear powerplant, its really up to the government to decide (which I see is quite a possibility someday, who knows?)... The Malaysian government is always up to something 'funny' from time to time...
