Me and my bf is planning to go out to Spain, a long holiday for the first time. I'm 27, he's 32.
He is offering to pay for the flight and the hotel, though I guess I'm more organized in these things, and I booked the flights by myself.
He's saying that he'll pay to my credit card, or pay me in cash the next time I meet him...but I'm not sure if I should take it or not.
From my past, my ex-bfs paid everything for travel expence, and thought that was normal thing to be accepted before marriage.
But this time, I'm thinking of paying the flights, and ask him to book the hotel instead...so we are both paying something.
Would it be appreciated, or thought in a way that ...he doesn't have to work hard to be with me...?
Should I claim for the flight expence, or say how I feel on the above, in this case?
Any advice from your point of view will be appreciated.

I reckon you should be honest with him. He will probably understand. But the fact that he is willing to pay must mean you are worth it. I think it is great that you prefer to pay your part, it may put his mind at ease that you are equally as willing as him.

how about saying yes you will accept the money but say you will keep it to one side for a nice meal whilst you are away, this way he will feel he has paid but feel he is getting a treat at the same time

In todays society I think it would only be fair if you paid your share. Equality is what we are striving for isn't it? Well I hope so anyway.
