I'm sure lots of people who answer these questions will have fun with this, but I BELIEVE and KNOW that I have heard the voice of God---I was in a really bad emotional state (relationship induced) and God told me that I just needed to wait, and everything would be fine -those aren't the exact words, but basically gives you the picture-anyway, it's been a while and I know I'm short on patience, but what if it really wasn't God, what if it was the devil playing tricks on me?

Well I really think only you can answer that...? and isn't it what you believe that ultimately counts? And I think most of us have had some unexplainable things to occur in our lives....And Maybe God just saw your heart opened to Him in need at that time....and what You should do is trust Him...afterall when Christ ascended into heaven He did send the Comforter to be with us...The Holy Spirit to lead and direct us...Just guessing here but I don't think I would be questioning a message I may or may not have received from God...Just trust Him ...And One of my favorite verses in the Bible is "Isaiah 41 :31... But they that wait upon the Lord.......Shall renew their strength,,,they shall mount up with wings as eagles, they shall run and not be weary, and they shall walk and not faint....(KJV) Isn't that one of the most beautiful promises in the Bible?also read Psalms 37 :7 and read Psalms 46 : 10 and Patience is one of the gifts of the spirit....I think God will give you that too if you ask? read Galatians 5 :22 & 23

I don't agree with Rhonda who says God only speaks through the Bible. Many stories in the Bible clearly describe God speaking to individuals in other ways than through scriptures.

You were in need and you felt/heard something which gave you guidance. I assume you were already actively involved in a spiritual practice, and had already set your intention to follow God, however you understand Him/Her. If this is so, why assume that the guidance you received was evil? God is loving, yes? You have dedicated yourself to serving God, yes? God has stated that all who believe and accept God will be accepted by God, yes? So trust God. If you want a scripture to meditate on, "Be still and know that I am God."

Honestly, i think you were really upset and wanted to hear an answer, so you did. I think it was good advice no matter where it came from... taking a step away from your situation probably was the best thing to do. You were extreemly emotional and vulnerable. But if you are expecting things to clear up all of a sudden, your in for a dissapointment. Life is hard. Life hurts. And no matter how religious you are or arent - you still have to live and experience things in thier fullest.

I read a short book on God's will and man did that book make sense. He said God's will isn't hidden like some hide easter eggs. To know God's will all you have to do is look in God's word and its there.. Example: Is it God's will for you to witness.
The bible says go out into the highways and hedges and compel them to come in that my house might be full. God's will is found.
Sometimes it might be harder to find but its there.

I think it is more likely that Satan is playing tricks on you now. You cannot mistake the voice of God. Many times it will be a message of patience, because that is what we lack the most. It is Satan that tells us to hurry up and act before it is time. He wants us to think we can control the universe, and make us doubt we need God's guidance. Keep praying and seeking God's guidance, and you will come to understand God's will for you.

It the Bible it says that the days of miracles and God speaking to humans is over. Besides, God has never spoken to a human directly. God usually uses the voice Gabriel. Maybe it was subconscious reasoning and rationalizing and you just heard it from a different point of view. Never underestimate the power of the mind.

I would say wait. This is the way I look at things: its like when you see a maze from looking over it...Well thats like God looking at us, sometimes we have to go the long way around and it takes longer to get to the prize, but if we do what we want anyway and try to take shortcuts then we end up stuck in a corner. If he says it will be fine, it will be fine. Just keep praying and loving him He will bring you around the maze if you just listen. :D

There's a sense of peace that is difficult to describe even when you don't like the answer. A "knowing" you can't exactly explain or feel the need to defend. An internal strength that gives you what you need to face the difficult times and you face it without fear or doubt or question.

If you felt better after He talked to you, how could it be satan? If there even is a satan, somehow my gut tells me there is definitely a God, but the same gut tells me there is no "satan" but that evil that exists in man because of our material and selfish wants.
If he was playing tricks on you, it would have made you feel evil not good. There is fiction in the space between.
I know because I know, likewise I know God TRIES to lead us or tell us something, we are just looking for a loud instructive voice, when we should be looking for the sweetest whisper.

ALWAYS, ALWAYS, ALWAYS, check your beleifs of what you feel you have been told against the Word of God. God will never contridict His own word. If your relationship lines up with His Word and is set up according to his laws, then you probably should contintue to wait. if you know the relationship is not hornoring God, then.... Well, Listen to God.
