British culture has made people there more appreciative of tea. It might be all in your mind.

Don`t expect to drop a bag in a mug and add hot water . Good tea should be made in a tea pot and steeped. Add a little milk to the bottom of the cup before you pour the tea in. Atmosphere also has a lot to do with it. Don`t grab the mug and run, sit sip and enjoy.

Tea is something that grows in the Indian sub continent, and that was part of the British Empire. When the British were there, they learnt the technique of making good tea from the planters in Darjeeling and Assam.
Tea also grows in China, but tastes different from Indian and Ceylon tea.

I think it is the water that they use for brewing in Britain. I am sure that the Lipton teabags are the same in both Britain and US.
have you ever considered Coca Colas as an alternative? They are always the same anywhere, have more caffeine, and are good from breakfast all the way through midnight snack.
